HEMORROIDECTOMY
What
to Expect Following Surgery:
- You
should go home either the same day or the morning following
your surgery. This will depend on the time of your surgery and
how well you are feeling.
- If
you have not urinated within 8 hours after being discharged,
please call our office 919.876.2010. This can happen with this
type of surgery.
- You
will be given a prescription for pain medicine and for a stool
softener to take twice a day before discharged from the hospital.
- It
is very important to avoid becoming constipated after your surgery.
You will need to take Metamucil or Citrucel every day to help
prevent this.
- If
you have not had a bowel movement in 48 hours of your surgery,
please call our office.
