DAVID C. POWELL, MD, FACS, RPVI
Dr.
David Powell, a native of Raleigh, "returned
home" when he joined Wake Surgical Center in 1983. A graduate
of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (undergraduate
1974 BA Zoology and Medical School 1978). He served as Resident
in General Surgery 1978-1982 at the University of Kentucky and
as Chief Resident at the University of Kentucky from 1982-1983.
He has published several surgical journal articles. Dr. Powell specializes in peripheral vascular surgery,
venous disease, gastrointestinal, and hernia surgery. He is the Medical Director of the
Duke Raleigh Hospital Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory. Dr. Powell is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He is one of 10 physicians in North Carolina to hold the RPVI certification-Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.Dr.Powell is currently providing VNUS closure for the treatment of varicose veins. He has performed over 200 VNUS closure procedures for varicose vein therapy. |
